Ongoing Art Classes with Maureen Brouillette

Acrylic Painting Escapes

I am very excited about this class because it is an extension of some ideas I have been exploring in my own work recently. I want to share the fun and inspire you to take your art to the next level.

The main focus of this class is to teach you a more advanced approach to starting and developing your paintings. I will show you ways to express yourself that will result in more unique artwork.

We will all be working from our own photos, but I regard the photos as a starting point only! I will demonstrate how to re-arrange, alter and edit the original photo composition for the improvement and effectiveness of your design. Your personal selections and the application of your design ideas should move your painting to a higher level of composition and emotional content. In order to genuinely express yourself through your work, you need to create a more personal approach to the subject, and strive to make it your own.

Painting technique is also an important part of the class, and will be explained and expounded on during my demos and throughout the class.

Exploring the versatility of acrylic paint is another crucial element of these classes, so we will be using acrylic in transparent, translucent and opaque applications.

All levels are welcome. To insure that all students get enough individual attention, I am limiting the class to ten students, or less. To reserve your spot, mail a check (made out to Maureen Brouillette) to 11108 Ferndale Road, Dallas, Texas, 75238. See you in class!
